Terms of Service

1. The Service

The Slow Net provides tools designed to encourage a calmer digital experience. The features, including but not limited to email forwarding, user profiles, and customizable public-facing websites (the "Sites"), are provided "as-is." I reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice.

2. User Accounts

You must create an account to access most features of the Service. Account creation is handled through third-party providers like Google and GitHub. You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account and for the content you create and publish.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to engage in any conduct that is harmful, fraudulent, or otherwise objectionable. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Selecting a "SlowNet Name" (`display_name`) that is offensive, infringes on any trademark or copyright, or impersonates another person.
• Using the email forwarding service to send spam, conduct phishing schemes, or engage in other abusive behavior.
• Publishing content on your public-facing Site that is illegal, defamatory, harassing, or hateful.
• Attempting to interfere with the proper working of the Service, bypass security measures, or access another user's account or data.

I reserve the right to reclaim usernames or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without notice.

4. Your Content

You retain full ownership of the content you create and post on your Site. By posting content, you grant me a limited license to host, display, and serve that content to the public as part of the Service's operation. You are solely responsible for your content and the consequences of posting it.

5. Termination

You can terminate your account at any time by using the "Delete Account" feature on your dashboard. This will permanently delete your profile, your site data, and all associated content from our primary databases.

I may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at my discretion, without prior notice, for any reason, including but not limited to a breach of these Terms.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied. I do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or free from errors, or that the email forwarding will be perfectly reliable.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service.

8. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
